Callicarpa americana flowers on Congress Street - sweetly scented. Never noticed them before. Here are last year's berries, on the same shrub. The berries have a very distinctive flavour - maybe useful in baking. Reminds me of mahlab (which I eat in milk rolls from Sahadi's, imported, oddly, from Canada).
