And Gehry spake unto the office workers and said unto them - You are forbidden to plant a cherry tree to brighten the facade of my creation. But the office workers defied Gehry and planted their cherry tree. And it was good.
If a little on the small side.
And lo, I laughed out loud with delight!
ReplyDeleteLove it! I'm going to forward this photo to the miserable unfortunates stuck in the Stata building at MIT, another of Gehry's abominations. Maybe some English ivy?
ReplyDeleteSo funny!
ReplyDeleteWhat a perfect combination of picture and text. Wonderful!
ReplyDeleteBecause of your blog I ordered and expect any day an Autumn Cherry. It is replacing a silver birch that died. Crossing fingers that I can get it in the ground timely. Thanks for the suggestion. (Ma is getting her mimosas. I like mine better.)
ReplyDeleteLOVE THIS! Thank you for brightening up our day with the picture and humour!
ReplyDeleteWe should all perform floral acts of defiance !
Sorry - I keep hitting anonymous when I should hit name - its me Jill in Honolulu.
ReplyDeleteFloral Acts of Defiance - you may be onto something, Jill. I like it.
ReplyDeleteHi Marie! Just visited Cleveland, Ohio where another Gehry 'mind-meld' exists- the Peter B. Lewis, Weatherhead School of Management building on the campus of Case Western Reserve University. Aaaaagh! His building's lay testament to probable heavy drug use in the 60's. I've got a photo of it on my blog apleasnthouse.com.
