Lunch break

After OK'ing it with The Power That Is, I took the crew of gardeners out to lunch to say thank you for a job well done. Happily, Odeon was nearby, and one of our number remembered the days when it was the only restaurant you could eat at in Tribeca. We almost all settled on the day's special of steak salad. The meat was very good, the dressing so-so ( I'm a dressing Nazi), but the fries were as good as all the fries are in the Keith McNally (or ex- in this case) empire. Conversation ranged from the power of fungi to the Highline's Stockholm Syndrome, with the tyranny of strollers and umbrella sidewalk etiquette inbetween.

  1. Lunch looks so great there in New York in October. I wish I was there with you. The fries look so good. We have a small place here in San Luis Obispo on Garden Street called Bel Frites. Got written up in Gourmet (good bye Gourmet..boo-hoo) in May. We love to walk down and get 'em and a Stella. Heaven !

    More later,
    Kary
