Relief

We had a quiet evening on the roof.

...eating more of the sunflower sprouts, and drinking the dregs of the ajo blanco. The dregs are the best.

And watching the water.

Beautiful! Looking forward to your book...I found some red currants at my farmers market yesterday and am wondering if you would share your recipe for currant jam? Not sure whether to make jam or jelly...

Asked the fruit lady at the market (we have a fruit 'share') about currents. Like me, she has never seen them, altho she did offer to ask the 'head farmer' ... her guess is that it is too hot here. On a quest now!

She refers to a phenomenon of moviegoing which I have called certification. Nowadays when a person lives somewhere, in a neighborhood, the place is not certified for him. More than likely he will live there sadly and the emptiness which is inside him will expand until it evacuates the entire neighborhood. But if he sees a movie which shows his very neighborhood, it becomes possible for him to live, for a time at least, as a person who is Somewhere and not Anywhere."
