On a very hot day last week, on a break for lunch from planting a terrace, this beautiful espresso was made for me. The cup had belonged to a grandmother, and the porcelain was of the eggshell kind.
Most of the time we all just rush about grabbing the closest mug and drinking whatever it is without much thought. But now and then it's oh so nice to sit down with a delicate (footed) cup; something paper thin and lovely from another era. It reminds us of our mothers and grandmothers, and of calmer days.
