Chinatown

We celebrated the greencard (which is actually white with some pink) and the greencard interview, by eating baked pork buns at Dim Sum Go Go on East Broadway in Chinatown. We might have had some dumplings, too. And a bit of Chinese beer.

Then we walked east, to the subway.

Longans, sugar cane and huge pomelos.

Unidentified fish looking like small pompano.

Solutions to problems.

Mangoes for the cat - except they wanted me to buy a whole box. So he still needs mangoes.

Messages fluttering beneath the Manhattan Bridge, with trains roaring overhead.

  4. Oh these buns look heavenly!! If they were only brioche perfumed with orange blossom essence, I'd already be hitchhiking over!

  5. Isn't that just the weirdest thing.....to my knowledge, the "green card" has never, ever, no sir, never been green. Really weird!

My blog today will answer some of your questions. The rest is....Russian brother-in-law, nephew's wife Polish, two cousin-in-laws married to Germans, all the Persian in-laws and a British son-in-law!

It is helpful to be a cultural anthropologist (I am) in this family!

  10. Your cat is clearly a little human in a furry disguise, as was our cat when I was a kid. All he wanted were tinned white asparagus and would claw his way up your leg to get to them when he heard you opening the tin...
