Giveaway winner...
The winner of a copy of Amy Stewart's The Drunken Botanist is Mary, who submitted a receipt, as they used to say, for a Cardinale, which happens to be one of my favourite summer drinks:
Cardinale
This is simple but delicious. My French father-in-law introduced me to the Cardinale.
1 part black currant syrup (or Creme de Cassis)
4 parts red wine (Malbec or Cabernet Sauvignon)
Garnish with an orange slice
I don't add ice but you can. [And I do.]
Mary's entry was chosen at random,. I really would have liked to have sent a copy to everyone who submitted botanically-inspired drinks; such wonderful recipes. Thank you!
From Carolyn's delectable Raspberry Thyme Refresher to jelli's epic Old Fashioned recipe, by way of piaski's Quince Tincture? Really impressive.
Mary, you'll find my email address if you click my profile picture, top left. Address needed.
