I left myself three plants on the terrace for the fresh herb, and dried the rest very slowly in the warm oven. Then I stripped the brittle leaves, flowers and seeds from the hard stems, collecting them into a heap on a clean, white cloth. I gathered enough to fill a medium mason jar, four times as much as I had last year. Vince walked into the apartment while I was doing this and said, It smells fantastic in here! And it did.

Summer savoury
I left myself three plants on the terrace for the fresh herb, and dried the rest very slowly in the warm oven.
