Cliff edge gardens

The ones on the Fifth Avenue, anyway.

  1. Do you have any idea about the story of the gardens in your first picture? Corporate or a DANG fancy penthouse suite or...? I want to think it's a small community of gardeners who all enjoy cocktails on each other's balconies most evenings :)

    1. that's woody allen's old place. it took 14 million in 1999. it would probably get double today.

    2. Anonymous! I think you've blown your cover :-)

      Maybe.

Paul - having designed just a couple of 5th Ave penthouse terraces my guess is that there are not many warm and fuzzy cocktail moments up there. But killer views, yes.

  2. Isn't it pleasing how little smudges of green can transform soulless concrete into something good to look at? : )

  3. I just love it when I'm visiting a tall city and look up and see green gardens. Even if it did once belong to Woody cradle robbing Allen.

  4. We've been taking care of that garden for a number of years now. No cocktail parties to date but we have had a couple of beers after work when the clients aren't home. I hope they never see this blog! Actually, I don't think they would mind, they are really nice people. Yes, killer views and some amazing Hawk encounters!
