Homesick

The prospect of our upcoming trip to South Africa, 36 hours of travel, each way, and eight days on the ground, has left me homesick for landscape. Here is spring, a phenomenon I miss especially, along the West Coast, traveling north from Cape Town. If you are free next September, book now. Go. It is unforgettable.

  1. It seems like a ridiculous amount of time to be travelling for just 8 days at home, but I am sure you will make the most of every moment you are here. In the mean time, I will try speak to the weather man and see if you can have great weather without too much wind!

  3. yes, differently-colored-and-shaped-homesick-kind-of-wow! Landscapes, they beckon, the memories pull. I miss a certain landscape, with a certain dog or horse running, a certain friend close at hand.

  4. Ooh, South Africa. If you are looking for things to do, maybe you could visit Chimp Eden.

  6. Fantastic reason to come home, even if it's a quicky- you have to seize what you can get and enjoy!

I hope the weather cheers up for you - it's been petulant.

If there is the slightest gap- we'd love to see you (but having just done 8 days with Carrie- I know how it goes!) xx
