Hmmm...Michael is an extraordinarily gifted cooker of meat (and fish) on real coals (no briquets, please) but he is neither South African nor does he live in Brooklyn. Alas.

Ellen - lucky you. Yes, I do need bonafide SAfricans, though. Tell me if you find any. I'm grilling sardines tonight. Hope they don't stick to the grid.

Are you looking for a boerewors recipe? I had a friend here who (years ago) made her own and I may be able to dig up the recipe.

Sorry we aren't in Brooklyn.

Thanks Anonymoose - I'm looking for actual people doing the braaing, to talk to...Can't say more yet! I do have some boerewors recipes. Gosh, I wish that was available here.
