Kir Rouge

A modest splash of Cassis over ice, topped with a medium-fruity red, light on the tannins, in this case a Gigondas. A slice of lime.

  1. Gigondas... Such a beautiful part of Provence. My dad was from Sorgues, about 30 km to the southwest, just before Avignon. And then another 30 bornes to the southeast and you're in la Fontaine de Vaucluse. 10 or 20 km more to the south and it's Cavaillon, French melon capital. Keep going and you end up in Camargue... :-)

  2. Errr, I know I'm French, but I meant "10 or 20 km more,(coma) to the south" and not "more to the south". Duh. :-)

  3. I don't see what's wrong with more to the south...

I like the fact that the Cassis and wine are from the same place. Sort of.

  4. Mmmmmm...... My bottle of cassis has been sitting in the liquor cabinet about 5 years, I don't know if it's still good to drink??
