That sounds wonderful... What was the Turkish dessert recipe that inspired it? An Afghan restaurant around here makes a candied pumpkin with a slightly spicy yogurt dressing that is rather addictive...
Really just pumpkin poached in sugar water...rose water optional. I think it does need some kind of spicy background.
