Zum Schneider

My little lager and Vince's manly-proportioned Weihenstephaner Weissbier this evening on the corner of East 7th and Avenue C in Alphabet City.

I have never eaten the real food at Zum Schneider - like the schnitzel...I wonder if it would be a mistake. Our $3 slice of delicious brown bread, butter and chives, aka schnittlauchbrot was a perfect snack. We also had salted radish with pickles and cheese. But the radish salad we had the other night at Frankie's has blown all other radish preparations out of the water. We will go back and take pictures of that one.

  1. Hey, I'm drinking out of one of those Weihenstephaner Weissbier mugs right now! Unfortunately it's not a Weihenstephaner.

  6. yummmmy. The chives look so pretty covering the surface of the butter. Reminds me of a similar treat that a former-bf of German descent made...unsalted butter on black bread or pumpernickel, with thinly sliced radishes layered on, tiny pinch of salt and fresh ground black pepper.

  7. Yes, that beer was just excellent. A touch fruity, sweet, not the smoky taste of most hefeweizen...
