Hope

For a brief, shining moment the prospect of a sunny apartment with 600 square feet of roof space appeared, until, in today's rain, it clouded over again. It seems a bitter loss. In my head, against my better judgement, I had already designed it. We had dinner parties up there. There was an apple tree, roses. Friends around a long table.

  1. You aren't by any chance referring to the apt mentioned in today's NYT, are you? Sad story:

  2. I read it, Pam, it is a sad story - no - different place, blank canvas, my favourite.

  3. There will be another, and it will find you. It just takes time and being open to opportunity, but an ability to withstand disappointment too...

  5. I sooo know that feeling! I have been waiting to hear back on a condo we have an offer in on since MAY! (it's a short sale, so the bank is taking its sweet time) I have resisted any planning, but everytime there is a glimmer of hope I go crazy with designs and plans, only to come crashing down when it becomes clear again that the bank is going to move as slooooooooowly as it pleases and may decide on a whim to reject our offer for the heck of it.
