We walked past the garden on the Gowanus Canal recently.
I had not noticed the yucca [see comments!] before. It may be new.
Old fashioned favourites - lamb's ears, echinacea...
And yellow loosetrife (Lysimachia punctata) looking very good with a blue salvia.
An unknown sedum spills through the wire and onto the sidewalk.
Roses and fire water to put them out if they get too hot.
I wonder if late summer will bring sunflowers.
THIS PICTURE SHOULD BE PAINTED AND HUNG IN MY HOUSE.YUP MY HOUSE.

i am glad the garden was not totally subsumed by concrete. it can still provide respite.
ReplyDeleteAmazing what someone who cares can do in a couple of feet between concrete strips!
ReplyDeleteI think that might be a Yucca rather than Agave. The one in my garden has a 6+ foot flower spike on it right now, about to bloom.
ReplyDeleteXris, yesyesyes. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteI love this garden and your blog. I found your blog a few years ago by following a link to this garden from another site (I think it might have been Apartment Therapy). I have been a regular reader ever since.
