3 hoods, 4 gardens

More Clematis "Etoile Violette", in Brooklyn Heights, one neighbourhood upstream from Cobble Hill.

The garden where no one ever sits, in - appropriately enough - Carroll Gardens, one neighbourhood south of us.

Back in Cobble Hill, a million containers. Neighbours share this space. A girl putting out her recycling said that the vegetables belonged to her and her boyfriend but that the lady on the parlour level was responsible for the flowers. This may bear some more investigation.

Speaking of which, I have met the container vegetable gardener on Pacific Street (above). His name is Trevor and is from St Vincent. He agreed that I may come back and talk to him, and I shall. He is also the engineer of this scaffold garden, which is behind the garage where he works. He is a mechanic.

  1. I'm always amazed at the lengths people will go to to "grow their own", I'm full of admiration at their efforts!

  2. Great photos. When you love growing things, you take the space you can get.
