Pink streets

My mother braved the bad streets of Brooklyn with me as we walked home from Frankie's 457 in Carroll Gardens. Our lunch had been very good - peeled green fava beans with linguine, pine nutty meatballs in sauce...We needed the exercise.

Happily, the double-ruffled cherries were in full swing.

No residents in evidence in the birdhouses.

These cherries and crabapples are peaking, and we're just getting onto dogwoods...

  5. Looks like the Pink Fairy has been busy in "your neck of the woods" and beautifully, too. So hot here today that things (like azaleas) are hanging limp and tired looking - already!

    Enjoy your adventures with Mother!

  6. I was in NY last Spring around this time and the flowers had already passed their peak. There's no telling with nature is there?
Thank you for the Pink in the Streets! Heavenly!

  9. Lovely. It looks the same in Beijing right now, all pink. Just not as much water :)
