Purple basil
We were dropped off after midnight, with door to door service, by Frank and Betsy after a long but short-seeming evening at their beach farm. We picked huge handfuls of beautiful beans, tomatoes, cucumbers, eggplant - and later came home with some perfectly ripe tomatoes which we will eat today with this perfectly purple terrace basil. More about the farm, later. The best tomatoes, ever.

ReplyDeleteBasil, tomatoes, salt and olive oil. Perfect.
ReplyDeleteI like to add a little balsamic too! :)
ReplyDeleteYou are so blessed! I love purple basil but unfortunately I do not grow it. If I am lucky to find some at the farmers' market, I add it to salads and pasta and also make a purple basil pesto!
