Pier 6 in fall
On a stroll from Pier 1 to Pier 6, the indigenous edible plants of Brooklyn's most Northeast-native inclined park, with the best view in New York, combine to make someone interested in wild flavors very happy.
Here are bergamot and blueberries, rosehips and spicebush, bayberry and sweetfern, sumac and chokeberry, sassafras and serviceberry, with exotic and invasive extras like the eminently edible day lily.

The gorgeous new meadow plantings overlooking the Buttermilk Channel feature swamp milkweeds and many golden rods, as well as asters, winterberry and chokeberry.

Totally off topic, but have been meaning to inquire: are you planning a calendar this year? I find myself needing at least two and was hoping for either the Harlem Garden or perhaps Strolling Harlem. Any possibility?
