It may not look like much (and boy, does it look drab out there), but I'll tell you what this is. Sun. Staying above The Building to our south, for the first time this year.
Of course, then it must contend, in its descent, with The Other Building, to the right, which is a behemoth.
But it's progress.
Are you as cold there as I am here? Going to marry a beet to some mozzarella for dinner this evening. Thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeletePretty chilly. Frozen tootsies. I press them against the Frenchman at night. He swears he likes it. Hope the beet went down alright. We had a variation of it tonight again (added slivered celery).
DeleteI had no idea your building entrance was on the south side. I imagined it the opposite. Yep. Gonna be sunny out there. Imagine the sun as it is now, a week into October.
ReplyDeleteAfter all the snow the sunlight must be a wonderful feeling....its monsooning here as it does in the PNW at this time of the year. The snow is melting and the rivers are at flood stage......every spring!
ReplyDeleteI miss that part of town. As it were.
DeleteI do hope the sun continues to shine. Honestly, more for me than you. LOL. I just discovered your wonderful blog about the time your book came out, and that 'nice' landlord raised your rent. Odd timing I thought. Anyway, I am so looking forward to what you will do now. More inspiration awaits your readers.
ReplyDeleteWe have 72 square feet of dirt and about 168 square feet total. What once was just an ugly old patio is slowly becoming a garden of my dreams thanks to you. I never thought I could do anything with our patio but now know I can.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for such inspiration.
blessings, jill
Thank you, Jill - I am really glad to hear that you are thinking of you outdoor space so happily.
DeleteRemember the days when Willard Scott used to remind parents to warn their children that the big yellow thing in the sky is not dangerous? I feel like that after all the dreary days and days and days we have had this winter. Don't think I will see the big yellow thing today ... but they are sort of promising for tomorrow. Hope springs eternal!
