It was cool for the first time, last night. We took our supper up there - a chicken, a salad, some bread, and ate it with the earlier sunset, and a breeze that meant business, off the water. We wore sweaters.
Downtown Brooklyn behind us in the east, and later, as it grew dark, heavy Venus in the west.
You have a way of setting the mood with just a few words - I love your writing!
ReplyDeleteI hope the cat helped with the chicken. Informants need to keep up their strenght for a long exile to Russia :)
ReplyDeleteMarie, your book arrived on my doorstep yesterday and it is BEAUTIFUL! I love it - your writing is wonderfully clear and descriptive and the photos are stunning - you and the Frenchman really capture the soul of NYC. I read your blog every morning and have also enjoyed my armchair travel through Kruger Park with you and Vince. I lived in Japan for several years and had a kitchen just about as small as yours so can relate to preparing meals in a tiny space. But I don't think our meals were as elegant as yours! Thank you for engaging us in your life in NYC and for the great book! Judy, Boston, MA.
ReplyDeleteLovely. I love your photography!
ReplyDeleteHow delightful! This is my idea of living well:-)
