Summer food


Tomatoes from the roof, basil from the terrace and burrata from an Italian bovine.

I have never seen American burrata. Has anyone else?

  2. Yes. Zingerman's in Ann Arbor Mi makes one. I wish Narragansett Creamery in RI did, because all their other cheeses are out of this world.

  3. Bel Gioso out of Wisconsin makes one...saw it for first time in Giant Eagle, Columbus. Don't know if they distribute in your area.

    1. Bel gioso is distributed here as is most Wisconsin cheese. I think I may have seen the burrata at some point but can't remember where. Fairway? Any number of Italian specialty stores must make it in house. Maybe Caputo on court. They just renovated.

  4. Make your own! Homemade burrata is one of my favorite things and I would so love to see a Marie riff on the process!

  5. Gioia cheese company in Southern CA makes it- I've been to several LA restaurants that use theirs. Would love to see a post on homemade burrata as well!

  7. I'm pretty sure that the burrata at Murray's Cheese (I visit the one at Grand Central regularly) is from upstate or Vermont. --Klaus
