Going with the flow.

  1. Guilty! Ebooks certainly have made it easier (and more compact). Can't live without mine.

  2. Like Webb, I couldn't live without mine, too. I have 64 books, six back issues of the NYT Book Review and two ebooks from the North Carolina Digital Library on my Nook at the moment. I carry a fairly large purse to work, but not one large enough to carry the above in actual hard copies. Love being able to always carry reading material with me at all times.

  3. Great photo.......reminds me of the days I rode the F train from Flushing-Main Street to Queensborough Plaza to transfer on my commute to City College.......back then I would have had 20-30 pounds of text books in my shoulder bag.....are college texts available as ebooks these days ?

  4. They will never replace the feel and smell of a book or magazine. And what about human interaction? Conversation? Bit of a Luddite, does it show? This is a shared computer btw!! :)

  5. I may actually take my Kindle with me when I fly. 12 hours plus 7 hours plus 9 hours...sigh. I just hate clicking to turn a page, though. It feels like treading water.

jelli - conversation? I think this couple might have had plenty of those. It's been said. Reading gives you new fodder :-)

  6. What a great photo; it says so much. I like my Kindle when I need to lighten the load, but nothing beats the smell and feel of a real book. I think there's room in the world for both. Don't I sound reasonable?
