Sometimes, supper is strange

Un assembled banh mi. Do it yourself. Here's the recipe for the filling. In last nights' case, leftover roast chicken was the base). Yes, that is Miller Draft. And that is all I am saying about that. I am not a beer drinker, and I like it.

  5. Keli'i - so...details? Shredded...pork? Chicken? Mole sauce? Cilantro? Sounds like a great idea.

webb, really?? He sounds super-choosy and this is kind of adventurous: fish sauce, ginger, chile! I'd have thought. But. You put meat on a bun and a meat and potatoes man is sold :-)That may be the key...Tell us what happens.

  6. Marie, I've used chicken and ground turkey with chili, chipotle, cumin, garlic, bay leaf, onion, sea salt cooked in a little chicken broth until tender. Chicken gets shredded, guacamole gets made, cheese get shredded, tomatoes and green onions chopped. My husband likes beans, too. Wrapper is whatever lettuce came in the CSA box or looked good at the store. I also do a vegetarian version using ground walnuts instead of meat. Very messy, but really good!

  7. Forgot to mention that if you are using walnuts, they should be soaked in warm water for a few hours before grinding. I use a regular old blender and just add some of the water til they reach the right consistency, then add spices. And yes, I use cilantro, too. I've also had this with a mango/tomato/avocado/green onion/garlic and cilantro salsa.
