Yesterday morning: the spookily deserted steps of the northern tip of
Sara D. Roosevelt Park, between Christie and Forsyth Streets. The plane trees silver against a blue December.
You know it's cold when there is no one in the picture: not a single coffee drinker, breakfaster, cellphoner, basketball player, homeless person or skate boarder - its usual denizens. I actually stopped, wondering what the hell was weird about the scene, whose plane trees are so familar to me - I cross the street here on the way to work.
But it was just empty.
They all saw the sign for 4 Christmases and bailed, one's hard enough to handle. ;-)
ReplyDeleteYup, that would account for it.
