Sarah, who ferried us and our considerable hardware to and from Book Court, poured exceptional sumac cocktails on site. Vince carried so many things - bags of ice, milk crates of potted pig and whipped avocado, jars of water and buckets of flowers - he had to change his shirt.

And the best thing?
There's some potted pig to spare (it's based on p.202's roast pork belly).
And every. last. pigweed. pastry was eaten.

ReplyDeleteWow... Congratulations : ) x
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! I returned after driving to Detroit and back for a family funeral to find my copy of the book waiting. What a gift.

What Jane said.
ReplyDelete..we did enjoy Sunday. And I washed a lot of glasses! Quite therapeutic :-)
DeleteMany congratulations, Marie. I've started reading your book, and in addition to offering wonderful recipes and beautiful photographs, it is highly readable and inspiring. I like the organization of the content, too. It's a real accomplishment.
ReplyDeleteWhat Annie said! :-)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations - sounds like a lovely time! I am waiting for my copy to arrive in the mail.
ReplyDeleteYay, for the success of the launch party and for sharing your food and drink with those lucky partygoers.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the book and the party! I received my copy this week and am working my way through it. Thanks for teaching me about living and loving every moment and every vege and fruit as it ripens. Take a bow and take a break to enjoy your achievement.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Marie!
ReplyDeleteAnd also to your companions/conspirators Vince and Estorbo. I have, as I already wrote you, enjoyed, savored, envied and been educated by 66 Square Feet for so much this past year and half. Part of that time I was unemployed and your posts really buoyed me during some despondent times. What a great place to launch the book. It all looked fabulous. Thanks also for the link to Noel Coward, so funny--I think he was a genius.
I have finally landed a job. Guess what I'm buying with my first paycheck?
Wishing you continued success from Flatbush.
Deirdre
PS Does Book Court have signed copies to buy?
Hi Deidre - thank you!
DeleteBook Court does not. If you like I can arrange to have them hold a special one for you.
Woah! Congratulations on the new job!!!
DeleteThanks, if you can. But don't sweat it: sounds like you've had some very busy weeks. I'm buying from them anyway because I love their store.
DeleteThank you and congratulations again,
Deirdre
Congratulations! That is so exciting! :)

ReplyDeletethanks for hosting such a lovely party :) I really enjoyed meeting the fellow attendees; your friend visiting from NC is charming! and the snacks were fantastically tasty. I can't wait to try out a few of the book's recipes.
ReplyDeleteThank you, everyone Very, very much.
ReplyDeleteI received my book. I love it! The format, with your photos of place, especially, is so unique, and the recipes are so very enticing. I will wind my way through it. Congratulations. You've done an incredible job, and 66 square feet gave birth to this project, which will take you 'who knows where.' As you say, all of your rich goodness is portable.
