...and ripe prunes at the farmers' market at Union Square today. Having caught more cabs in two days with my mom than we have in two years, Vince and I stretched our legs a bit and bought grapes for dessert tonight (dinner picnic at The Inn on 23rd - about which I am still making up my mind), as well as a beautiful bunch of rainbow coloured radishes. I shall transport bagna cauda.
well if that doesn't say Fall and what's on my table for Thanksgiving...nothing does.....
ReplyDeleteI love the flavor of concord grapes...supermarket grapes are usually not...well...grapey enough!
ReplyDeleteyum, concords. we grew them in michigan when i was growing up. i didn't know any other grape till i moved and found, as thomas said, supermarket grapes. a entirely different fruit.
ReplyDeleteDinner picnic report: we did very well. Would have done better had we not forgotten the bread. ;-)
ReplyDeleteWhen i lived in upstate New York, i picked Concord grapes that were practically wild. They were very seedy, but made the.best.jam.
