The monarch butterflies emerge from them on a regular basis, providing the kids (and all of us) a chance to watch the process of cocoon to butterfly. They are a joy to behold. Monarchs abound. My uncle is an entomologist, and being totally comfortable with bugs he most likely could describe the way butterflies taste. He was pumped to try the 19-year cicadas, which are considered quite the delicacy. I, on the other hand, wouldn't eat something like that unless I was starving, or physically coerced.
