A Year of Foraging in the City

From March to November, some of the plants and fungi I found, cooked and ate in Brooklyn, Manhattan, Staten Island and Queens. Sorry, Bronx. Next year.

  1. The mulberry photos remind me of Mary Oliver's poem "...cramming the black honey of summer into my mouth."

  2. Looks to me like a good outline for a book. Now I'm hungry and must go eat something yummy.

  3. It's not just great that you harvested and ate all that stuff, but you photographed it so beautifully.

  4. John - yes, with purple hands to boot.

    webb - :-)

Ellen - thank you! I'm hoping we find that mega chicken of the woods when you're in Cape Town. Whee!

    Thank you Keli'i!
