I'm so impressed that you can keep it outside, and that you are brave to do all this root trimming etc. It will be fun to see how things go this summer. The stuff I am reading seems to say that I should prune off the top, leaving about 2-3 leaves/buds do develop into the main branches for the tree, and the shape of your fig seems to suggest I should do that (you wound up with two main branches here). I'll confess I'm a lttle nervious about pruning a "baby." Do you think I should do what the internet says?Terrace Gardener, WEAhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07621293038245664336noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8603107829473043654.post-73165930360727235082013-02-27T17:20:32.940-05:002013-02-27T17:20:32.940-05:00Kudos for doing it on such a yucky day. A good reminder of what a great tree it is - and will be again in just a few months. webbhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15168174623602308906noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8603107829473043654.post-34247470026556229322013-02-27T15:25:13.020-05:002013-02-27T15:25:13.020-05:00outstanding post, and you and the fig were also s...outstanding post, and you and the fig were also standing.. out...Sarahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12801858119721442559noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8603107829473043654.post-8514625298567644302013-02-27T15:06:18.809-05:002013-02-27T15:06:18.809-05:00When you described struggling with the fig while w...When you described struggling with the fig while wearing earflaps, I had a mental image of Ignatius in A Confederacy of Dunces.
