Kwanzan cherry blossom

A bright blue spring day and the plush pink blossoms of the Kwanzan cherries were in full fluff on their branches. Above, Union Square. Below, the Mercer Street dog run at Houston.

And on Bleecker Street at Mercer...

It was a temptation to stand and shake the branches while pink confetti fell.

  1. Just sensational! We've nothing blooming here yet (except perhaps hope and expectation). Walking under those trees must be an experience you don't soon forget.

  2. I love cherry blossoms. Marc wants to get one for our front lawn now that we've chopped down our dying maple. We might just have to do just that.

  3. On Saturday the crab apple dropped it's petals in a pink shower. It was delightful!

  4. Christine - amazing how far away you are, on the other side of another country! But waiting for spring is almost the best part :-)
